Four stars is honestly a bit of a high rating for this device, but despite its flaws I still find a lot to love with it. Having previously purchased an Orion-Q, I was enticed by the larger tank size and wattage control, as well as the small quality of life improvements such as the puff counter/timer with the small screen. Right out of the box, I was taken aback by how stark the difference in build quality was. The switch from a stainless steel to aluminum and plastic housing makes the device extremely light, but with a much “cheaper” feel. The “venting panel” along the side is a bit of a baffling design choice, as well as the plastic fire and control buttons. Nothing feels truly bad or flimsy, but it was a major shock feeling the difference, especially given the larger size. Vapour quality is decent, though the airflow control ring seems to be…well, almost entirely non-functional. I’ve had no issues so far with either the 0.6 or 1.0 coils, and flavour has been quite good with the few juices I’ve used so far. I’ve slowly become more endeared to it, but it simply feels more like a downgrade despite being an objectively better device. I’m currently waiting on an Orion Q-Pro with the hopes that it will provide a closer performance to the Ultra without sacrificing the solid build quality of the Orion Q.
